Nearly 25,000 Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mostly for property damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Wyndham - nearly 180 help reports
At the height on yesterday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across various areas of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, specifically given the current weather patterns.
